What is AJET Tokushima? AJET徳島とは？
The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme has been promoting international understanding in Tokushima-ken and elsewhere in Japan since 1987. It recruits young men and women from all over the world to join local communities as language teachers and international relations officers. There are currently some 80 JET participants placed at schools and government offices in Tokushima prefecture.
The Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching is the organization that represents most JET participants and coordinates many of their activities. In Tokushima-ken, the highlight of the AJET calendar is the musical, which has been a major annual event for the past 19 years. Past productions include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (2009), “The Lion King” (2010) , "Treasure Island" (2011), and "Beauty and the Beast" (2012).
Our performances use both simple English and Japanese to entertain and communicate, including many popular songs from both languages. We perform at several venues across the prefecture to ensure that as many people as possible can see the musical. In the spirit of cultural exchange and education, the AJET musical has always been a non-profit project. Entry to all performances is free of charge.

JETプログラムというのは、昭和６２年度から日本の外国語教育の充実と地域レベルでの国際交流の進展を目的として、広く外国から、青年を外国語指導助手 や国際交流員として学校や地域自治団体へ招聘しているものです。現在徳島県においては、80人のJET参加者がいます。
AJETというのはJET参加者の会であり、地域国際交流の推進の為にいろいろな活動をしています。徳島では、この18年の間、AJET最大かつ最もよく 知られているイベントがミュージカルです。最近のミュージカルとしては「チャーリーとチョコレート工場」（2009年）や「ライオンキング」（2010 年）や「宝島」（2011）などがあります。
このミュージカルは簡単な英語と日本語で演じ、日本と外国の有名な歌もたくさん登場します。たくさんの県民の皆様にお越しいただけるように、毎年多数の会 場で開催します。なお、このミュージカルは、地域国際交流と教育を目的とする事業ですので入場料は無料とさせていただきます。
